Why we are doing it?

Why we are doing it?

Climate change poses an existential threat to the planet and its inhabitants. Rising temperatures, extreme weather events, biodiversity loss, and other consequences of climate change have far-reaching implications for ecosystems, economies, and human well-being.

Addressing the urgent climate crisis and empowering young people to take effective action is crucial for the survival and well-being of current and future generations. By increasing youth's impact on shaping climate policies and enabling them to implement sustainable solutions in their communities, we harness their potential as catalysts for positive change and ensure a sustainable and resilient future for all.

Increasing the impact of young people on shaping climate policies is essential because their voices bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a sense of urgency to decision-making processes. Youth have been at the forefront of global climate movements, demanding policy changes and calling for ambitious climate targets. By involving them in policy discussions at local, national, and international levels, we tap into their passion and expertise, ensuring that policies are inclusive, future-oriented, and effective.

Empowering young people to implement sustainable solutions in their communities creates a ripple effect. Their actions inspire and mobilize others, fostering a culture of environmental consciousness and collective action. By actively involving youth in finding local solutions to climate challenges, we tap into their creativity and problem-solving skills, leading to innovative approaches and meaningful impact.

Who we are?

Who we are?

We are the Young Ambassadors of Climate from Konin in Poland and Agder in Norway. Our mission is to raise awareness about climate change in our communities and ignite a collective concern for our shared planet. We strive to enhance youth participation and engagement in local climate policies, empowering them to make a meaningful impact on the future of our cities.

As passionate Young Ambassadors of Climate, we have launched an impactful climate campaign that sparks a social dialogue among the residents of Konin. Through various engaging media initiatives such as the ``Crossroads`` art exhibition, a captivating comic series, compelling film spots, interactive social debates in the Long Table format, and thought-provoking performances in the Forum Theatre style, we foster an atmosphere of positive and constructive discussion. Additionally, we organize climate runs, walks, and distribution of seedlings as part of our efforts to inspire action and promote sustainable practices.

Our endeavors receive valuable support from the City of Konin and the Agder County Council, demonstrating their commitment to our cause. Furthermore, we are honored to have the patronage of the Polish Ombudsman and UNICEF Poland, whose endorsement further highlights the significance of our upcoming event.

The event will be held online using the Open Space Technology (OST) method on the Qiqochat platform and the Zoom application. OST methodology enables effective and creative group work, fostering innovation and active participation in decision-making. Participants will have the opportunity to choose and prioritize topics that interest them the most, co-create the meeting agenda, set the schedule, and form working groups accordingly. This inclusive approach will enable us to create novel and effective solutions to our problems.

The meeting will be conducted in Polish and simultaneously translated into English. In working groups, discussions can be conducted in Polish or English, depending on the participants. During the Meeting, a recording studio will be run, where we will record interviews with the participants of the Meeting. The entire event will be made into a film that will be made available on the platforms of all organizers and partners to all participants.
